If you ever find yourself sitting across from singer and songwriter Sean Curran, he’ll explain to you- with a humble yet confident tone- that everything he creates is rooted in the process of sitting with God to sort things out. Ever since Curran picked up a guitar for the first time, he has been learning how to talk with God through music and as a result has crafted songs that so many worshippers are singing today.

“Some of the things I was sifting through were becoming melodies and phrases I could sing again,” says Curran of those first steps into songwriting. “Something pops up that God can use for more than that moment. Now I am trying to figure out how to invite others in.”

Sean Curran is a part of Passion and sixstepsrecords/Capitol Christian Music Group as a worship leader and songwriter. His insatiable desire to invite others into a meeting grounds with God is evident whenever Curran gets behind a microphone. He chases Jesus with an adamant spirit and believes authentic worship is, at its core, a conversation through song. Sean creates in such a way that he’s not just composing songs, he’s constructing language for others to walk with God through their pain and questions.

A refreshing take on composing personal worship songs for corporate settings, Curran confidently states that he asks only one question of the music he’s working with: does this make me feel like God is close?

Since 2017, Curran has played a vital role in leading at Passion Conference. He is featured on albums, including: Follow You Anywhere, Whole Heart, and Worthy of Your Name. With more than 2 million units sold and a multitude of chart-topping singles, Passion is at the forefront of creating authentic worship experiences for people of all ages. The newest album Follow You Anywhere, featuring Curran, garnered 2.6 million streams within the first week of its release, setting a new record for both Passion and sixstepsrecords.

The newest endeavor for Curran is the release of his first solo EP with sixstepsrecords/Capitol Christian Music Group.

“I think so many of the songs on this EP have the same undercurrent of believing that we were designed to be in rhythm with the Father’s heart. Even though we’ve done a whole lot to throw that out of orbit, the whisper of the Father never stopped.”

The EP is set to arrive this summer. A former member of Billboard chart-ranking band Bellarive, Curran lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife Natalia. The two call Passion City Church home.
